CHEMICAL RESISTANT, SINGLE COMPONENT URETHANE
Moisture Cure Urethanes are the ultimate in high-performance coatings. They are 100% UV stable, extremely durable, wear, abrasion and chemical resistant. Moisture Cure Urethanes are ready to use, single component coatings that require no mixing before use.
PolyRez Moisture Cure Urethane is available in two different formulas.
MCU-85 is a very low odor, 85% solids moisture cure urethane, perfect for use as a final top-coat on all types of residential, commercial and industrial floors. MCU-85 is the perfect final top-coat when the ultimate in durability and chemical resistance is required. It also offers user friendly installation since it has very low odor.
MCU-55 is a lower solids version with 55% solids. This lower solids version produces a slightly thinner film than the 85% version when applied at the same rate. MCU-55 also has a much stronger odor than the 85% version, but the additional solvent often aids in application and penetration. MCU-55 is also an excellent final top-coat for all types of residential, commercial and industrial floors, also offering the ultimate in durability and chemical resistance.
Although MCU-55 is typically only recommended as a final top coat over PolyRez Epoxies, Polyaspartics and Urethanes, in specific situations, MCU-55 may also be used directly to properly prepared concrete floors. In this application, the utmost care must be taken to be sure the concrete is COMPLETELY DRY and the slab contains NO MOISTURE before application. Any excess moisture will cause the coating to instantly harden and cure before it can penetrate or bond to the surface.
MCU is the perfect final top coat for all types of high-performance floors:

Cleaning and Preparation Instructions
APPLICATION OVER SMOOTH EXISTING COATING - Apply using a 1/4” mohair blend roller, dip and roll the mixed material from a roller pan. 18” rollers are recommended for any surface to speed up application time and reduce roller marks. Start by placing the wet roller at one corner of an approximate 4’ x 4‘ square and roll the material at an angle to opposite corner applying no pressure to the roller. Spread the material across only that square and immediately back roll to even out material and roller lines. Adjust the size of your square as needed based on the amount of material being applied with the roller. After finishing the square, move on to the next square using the same technique. While applying keep a wet edge to prevent roller marks. It is recommended to work in sections usually using control joints as dividers to ensure proper application results. Discard any material left in the roller pan when coating is complete. Do not allow to puddle! Use a brush to remove excess coating in joints.
Do not apply MCU if surface temperature is below 50° F., or above 80° F.
See TDS for recommended cure times and re-coat window information.
CAUTION: Moisture cured urethane cures by absorbing moisture from the atmosphere and then hardening. If the container is open for any period of time or brushes or rollers are dipped in and out, then the contents are likely to cure and become solid. Partially filled containers are also likely to cure and become solid over a period of time. Pour out only what will be used up in the immediate time frame and reseal the original container each time after pouring product out. Discard any material left in the roller pan when coating is complete. Left over material should be poured into air tight, metal cans that have little to no air space in them with the lid securely in place. Always test a small area for compatibility before proceeding.
CLEAN UP: Clean up tools with MEK or Acetone.
Of course, having the right tools will make your job easier, so scroll to the bottom to see our recommended Rollers, Brushes and Application Tools!
Coverage rates are approximate and will vary depending on substrate density, porosity, texture and application method. In most cases, only one coat is recommended. Excessive build-up should be avoided.
