If choosing the right product for your project wasn't already confusing enough, many locations have now imposed regulations on the products you can purchase, use, or have shipped into those areas. While Canada and much of the United States still follow the guidelines set forth by their government or the EPA, a growing list of states, cities, towns and municipalities continue to impose more and more rules and regulations of their own.
So, what does this mean for you? Well, aside from reducing your choices and making the process more complicated and expensive, not much. Over the last 10 years our industry has made huge strides in developing "Low VOC", "High-Solids" and "Water-Based" technologies. Although they may look, smell and behave differently, the majority now perform just as well as traditional solvent-based products.

From there you will be able to see the specific regulations for your location and which products are available to your area. If your state is "grayed" out, it means your state follows Federal EPA guidelines and you're free to purchase any product you would like!
