WET LOOK CONCRETE AND PAVER SEALER

Seal-n-Lock SuperWet is an ultra premium, 2 component water-based urethane specifically designed for pavers, but is also equally as effective on all types of concrete and even some stone and masonry applications. SuperWet represents the next generation in coatings technology. Not only does it boast a safe, low VOC, water-based formula... IT ACTUALLY WORKS! This is something we have never been able to say about any exterior film-forming water-based product before!

On pavers, SnL SuperWet provides the rich enhanced color and "wet look" everyone wants, along with superior stabilization of the sand joints. This unique formula can even be used on damp surfaces without the risk of turning white like cheap solvent-based acrylics. Now, instead of waiting for days for your pavers to dry, you can now clean, sand and seal all in one day. SuperWet has very low odor and applies quickly and easily by sprayer, eliminating the need for rollers, respirators and toxic solvents.

SnL SuperWet is also perfect for all types of indoor and outdoor concrete, especially exposed aggregate, stamped concrete and stained interior floors. SuperWet can be used as a high performance primer or stand-alone clear sealer for all types of concrete surfaces.

As a true "Professional Grade" product, SuperWet comes in a super-concentrated formula that you dilute with water to make up to 20 gallons of ready to use product! This not only saves big on shipping costs, it also allows the user the versatility to customize the perfect product for each specific situation or condition. I have used this product on 3 separate occasions. All with good results. It is nice that it gives a nice sheen yet is not so diluted that is cuts down on its lifespan. I will use it again as well as Southern Stain and Seal. Nice people to do business with. Take the time to answer your questions and fast delivery.

Seal-n-Lock Super Wet

Seal-n-Lock SuperWet is one of the most versatile and best performing sealers we have ever used. It's two component pure urethane formula is extremely durable, chemical resistant and deep penetrating, making it superior to almost all other exterior sealers. SuperWet can be used on all types of surfaces including pavers, concrete, brick and stone.

SnL SW comes packaged in either a 2 or 5 gallon kit. This kit contains Part:A and Part:B that must be mixed to activate the product and begin the hardening process. Unlike other sealers like acrylics that simply "dry" by evaporation of the water or solvent they are dissolved in, SuperWet hardens by a chemical reaction created when the two parts are mixed together. This chemical reaction curing process is what makes SnL SW so much more durable and moisture resistant than other products.

Probably the most advanced feature of the Seal-n-Lock System is it's ability to make cleaning and sealing an easy ONE DAY PROCESS! It's unique composition allows SnL SW to be used on pavers immediately after cleaning, without waiting days for the pavers to dry and without the worry of the sealer turning white from moisture.

Although SnL SW was originally designed for enhancing and protecting pavers, it works equally as well, on all types of concrete and many other surfaces. Exposed Aggregate, Travertine, Brick and Broom Swept Concrete just to name a few. SuperWet's performance and ease of application on concrete rivals almost everything else on the market.

Seal-n-Lock SuperWet has also become our go-to recommendation for priming stained or dyed interior concrete floors. By first applying SnL SW over your acid stained or acetone dyed concrete, you predictably enhance the color, lock in the dye so it doesn't lift as you are applying the top-coat and create a uniform porosity for even top-coat application. SuperWet is compatible with most high-performance coatings such as Polyaspartics, Epoxies and Urethanes. We never recommend the use of any acrylic (solvent or water-based) over SuperWet.

Also don't forget that Seal-n-Lock SuperWet comes in a high-solids concentrate form. This means you get a lot of bang for your buck! Recommended dilution ratios vary depending on the type of surface you are working on and also vary depending on environmental conditions. See info below for more about recommended dilution ratios.

Seal-n-Lock SuperWet can be used clear, or tinted with color from our AquaPack Color System.

Color Tint For Paver Sealer AquaPack Color System:

Color can be added to SuperWet to create beautiful, rich, transparent colors. AquaPacks are available in 14 brilliant colors to fit any style. Colors can also be mixed to create endless combinations. Average color loading for a semi-transparent color is approximately 1 oz. of color / gallon of mixed and diluted sealer. Simply add less pigment to achieve a more translucent color. For lighter colors it may take more and darker colors may take less depending on the application. Do not add too much color! Over pigmenting may cause color float or streaking. Especially in the darker colors! Do not allow product to puddle during application! Apply sealer by sprayer only. Rollers will leave streaks and marks in the color.

Note: Because Seal-n-Lock SuperWet is so versatile and has so many possible applications, be sure to use only the cleaning, prep and application methods that are suitable for the surface you are sealing. The following are basic cleaning, preparation, mixing and application guidelines, but they may not be suitable for every situation. Coverage rates are only estimates and will vary based on surface porosity and size of sand joints.

Cleaning and Preparation Instructions

1. Completely remove all oils and contaminates from the surface. This may be done by hand scrubbing, pressure washing, sand blasting, shot blasting, diamond grinding and/or auto scrubbing. (Although SuperWet is compatible with many other types of sealers, it is ALWAYS recommend to completely remove any existing sealers or coatings before application) Use only cleaning methods suitable for the substrate you are cleaning. Area to be treated must be clean and not hydro-phobic.

2. Use only the amount of cleaners necessary to remove contaminates, oils, fluids and sealers from the substrate. If using acidic cleaners to remove efflorescence, calcium, rust, etc, be sure to neutralize and restore pH with Balance Neutralizer. Rinse thoroughly! Surface and pores must be clean and free of all chemicals before applying SuperWet.

3. If using over trowel finished concrete, diamond grinding is always recommended to open the surface and allow adhesion of the sealer. Do not grind finer than 100 grit. Beyond 100 grit, sealer adhesion will be compromised. If diamond grinding is not possible, first etch with Surf-Prep.

4. On pavers, always repair any loose pavers or damaged sand joints before application. Wet-sanding with a coarse angular sand is the recommended procedure. Dry sweeping sand will create weak un-compacted joints that can collapse as sealer is applied. See video on opening tab for more on the wet sanding process. Blow any loose sand from the surface before application.

Mixing Instructions

When you open your Seal-n-Lock SuperWet kit, you will find Part:B in a metal can cradled in the divider at the top of the pail. Below the divider, you will find Part:A in the pail itself. These are the two components that will make up your Seal-n-Lock SuperWet Sealer Concentrate.

Sometimes you may have the need to mix smaller batches for sample areas or smaller projects. The 2 gallon and 5 gallon kits have slightly different mix ratios due to packaging constraints. If you are mixing from a 5 gallon kit, use the mix ratio of 4.3(A) : 1(B). If you are mixing from a 2 gallon kit, use the mix ratio of 6.5(A) : 1(B)

After Mixing, the SuperWet Concentrate can be diluted with up to 3 parts water to 1 part sealer. After mixing, the product must be used within two (2) hours and cannot be stored for future use. Never mix more product than you can apply in a 2 hour time frame. At the instant you mix these components, the curing process will begin.

1. Before mixing, you will first need to determine the approximate amount of concentrate you will need to mix (and then dilute) to complete the portion of your project you have planned. This may take a bit of figuring based on the dilution ratio(s) you plan to use, rate of application and number of coats you plan to apply. If you haven't already, be sure to accurately measure the area you will be sealing. (length x width = area)

Below, you will find a list of common applications for SuperWet, along with detailed application instructions, dilution ratios and application rates. Use this info to estimate the amount of concentrate you will need to mix.

2. Once you have determined the amount of concentrate you need to mix, measure each component carefully at the correct mix ratio. If you are mixing from a 5 gallon kit, use the mix ratio of 4.3(A) : 1(B). If you are mixing from a 2 gallon kit, use the mix ratio of 6.5(A) : 1(B)

3. Pour Part:B into Part:A while stirring with clean paint stick. Make sure all measured Part:B gets out of the container and into the mix. (Part:B is thick and sticky)

4. Mix thoroughly with drill and Squirrel Mixer. Concentrate is now ready to be diluted with water.

Typically you will only be using two dilution ratios. Either 2 parts water : 1 part concentrate or 1 part Water : 1 part concentrate.

5. Measure the amount of clean water needed to make the dilution you need into a clean pail large enough to hold the complete mix.

6. Pour already mixed concentrate into pre-measured amount of water. Stir well with paint stick. (Note: Always add concentrate to water. Adding water to the concentrate can cause the mix to foam, especially if from a garden hose)

7. If a tinted sealer is desired, you should now add the desired amount of AquaPack Color. Again, stir well with paint stick.

8. For additional slip resistance or added texture, Surface Grip may be added after Parts A & B have been thoroughly mixed. Adding Surface Grip is a great way to reduce slip and falls, reduce gloss/reflection and also hide minor imperfections in the concrete. Follow mixing instructions and do not overload system. When using a non-skid additive in SuperWet, do not add to first coat. Add it to second coat. The addition of an anti-skid additive will make spraying difficult, so soll-on application is typically recommended when using Surface Grip. All non-skid additives may shorten the life of the film to some degree.

9. Product is now ready to apply!

Specific Applications

Sealing Pavers:

1. Using our battery operated pail pump system or pump sprayer, uniformly apply a heavy flood coat of Super Wet for joint stabilization. Hold sprayer tip 10” – 12” from the paver surface and use overlapping passes to cover the entire area with a heavy flood coat. (avoid overspray on adjacent surfaces, rinse any overspray with water). We recommend 2 parts water : 1 part SuperWet for the flood coat application. The purpose of the flood coat is to fully saturate the sand joints and "lock" them together.

2. After flood coat application, a leaf blower can be used to gently move sealer around for uniform application. Avoid leaving any un-absorbed puddles on the surface. Allow flood coat to dry until fully absorbed and no white areas are visible. SuperWet appears white when initially applied, but dries crystal clear.

Flood Coat
Properly applied flood coat

3. Now you are ready to apply a lighter top coat (second coat) to further enhance the color and create the finished sheen and appearance. We recommend 1 part water - 1 part SuperWet for the top coat application.

4. Make sure all sprinklers are turned off for a 24 hour period of time. Apply SuperWet only if rain is not expected for at least 24 hours. Do not apply SuperWet below 50° F.

5. Allow surface to dry for a minimum of 24 hours before foot traffic and 48 hours before vehicle traffic.

Flood Coat = 2:1 dilution applied at 80-100 sq. ft. / gallon
Top Coat = 1:1 dilution applied at 200-250 sq. ft. / gallon
Total Paver Project Estimate Rate = 150-200 sq. ft. / gallon of SuperWet Concentrate... This means a 5gallon kit should be enough product to complete a 750-1000 sq. ft. paver project. This includes both coats and is based on un-sealed pavers with average sand joints. Previously sealed pavers will typically be less absorbent and may require lighter coats, or possibly only one "top coat", depending on condition of the existing sealer.

Sealing Interior Concrete Floors:

Seal-n-Lock SuperWet makes the perfect primer and color enhancer for stained or dyed interior concrete floors. For years, contractors have struggled with creating consistent colors while using different types of top-coat sealers. Some sealers like polyaspartics dramatically darken the color of the stained floor, while others have much less enhancement or even none at all. SuperWet creates a perfect enhancement every time while also locking in the color and creating a uniform porosity for easy top-coat application. After priming with SuperWet, you can then apply the compatible top-coat of your choice and still get the consistent color you want.

1. Apply primer coat to properly prepared concrete with a high quality sprayer. Evenly apply a uniform wet coat over the entire area. (avoid overspray on adjacent surfaces, use spray shield or mask off areas not intended to be sealed). We recommend 2 parts water : 1 part SuperWet for priming concrete floors. Do not allow to puddle. The purpose is to saturate the surface of the concrete, but not to apply more product than the floor can absorb.

2. Allow Seal-n-Lock SuperWet to dry/cure for 12-24 hours. Product cures faster in warmer temperatures and slower in cooler temperatures. Do not allow SuperWet to cure longer than 36 hours before applying top-coat!

3. Apply compatible top-coat according to manufacturer's instructions. SuperWet is compatible with most high-performance coatings such as Polyaspartics, Epoxies and Urethanes. We never recommend the use of any acrylic (solvent or water-based) over SuperWet.

Concrete Floor Primer = 2:1 dilution applied at 250-350 sq. ft. / gallon
Floor Primer Product Estimate Rate = 750-1000 sq. ft. / gallon of SuperWet Concentrate... This means a 5gallon kit should be enough product to prime a 3750-5000 sq. ft. floor.

Exposed Aggregate Concrete:

Everything that makes Seal-n-Lock SuperWet the best paver sealer on the market, also makes it awesome for exposed aggregate too. Superior durability, resistance to moisture, and a beautiful "wet look" combined with the easiest application possible make this a great option for aggregate. Since SuperWet comes in a concentrate form, it is actually price comparable to seemingly less expensive acrylics.

1. Using our battery operated pail pump system or pump sprayer, uniformly apply a single heavy coat of Super Wet to aggregate surface. Hold sprayer tip 10” – 12” from the concrete surface and use overlapping passes to cover the entire area. (avoid overspray on adjacent surfaces, rinse any overspray with water). We recommend 1 part water : 1 part SuperWet for sealing exposed aggregate. Apply heavy enough that sealer begins to pool around the aggregate stones, but no more than half way up the pebbles or stones. If needed, sealer can be gently brushed with a soft, wide applicator brush to remove any puddles and help create a more uniform application.

2. In most cases, one saturating coat is all that is recommended. If additional gloss is desired, a second lighter coat at the same dilution ratio can be applied. Apply second coat as soon as first coat is fully absorbed and no white areas are visible.

3. Make sure all sprinklers are turned off for a 24 hour period of time. Apply SuperWet only if rain is not expected for at least 24 hours. Do not apply SuperWet below 50° F.

4. Allow surface to dry for a minimum of 24 hours before foot traffic and 48 hours before vehicle traffic.

Aggregate Sealer = 1:1 dilution applied at approximately 100 sq. ft. / gallon
Aggregate Sealing Product Estimate Rate = approximately 200 sq. ft. / gallon of SuperWet Concentrate... This means a 5gallon kit should be enough product to seal approximately 1000 sq. ft. of exposed aggregate.

Stamped Concrete:

Seal-n-Lock SuperWet is also a great choice for sealing, restoring and/or re-coloring stamped concrete. SuperWet can be used clear or combined with our AquaPack Color System to add, enhance or completely re-color worn stamped concrete. SuperWet should be applied to stamped concrete using several thin coats, rather than one heavy coat. This reduces the risk of puddles forming in the stamped texture.

1. First determine if you will be adding color to your SuperWet. For re-coloring stamped concrete, we recommend two or three light coats (first two coats with color, and then a final clear top-coat to protect the colored surface below) If using without color, product can be applied in either a 2 or 3 coat process, depending on porosity and gloss desired.

2. Using our battery operated pail pump system or pump sprayer, uniformly apply a light wet coat of Super Wet to concrete surface. Use overlapping passes and a fine spray tip to cover the entire area. (avoid overspray on adjacent surfaces, rinse any overspray with water). We recommend 2 parts water : 1 part SuperWet for the 1st and 2nd coats. Apply only enough to evenly wet the surface. Do not allow deep puddles to form in the grooves or texture.

3. Allow first coat to dry until fully absorbed and no white areas are visible. Second coat can now be applied in the same manner as first coat. (if only applying two coats, proceed to final top-coat application)

4. Final clear top-coat can now be applied as soon as previous coat has fully absorbed and no white areas are visible. We recommend 1 part water : 1 part SuperWet for the final top-coat. Apply in the same manner as previous coats, applying only enough to evenly wet the surface. Do not allow to puddle.

5. Make sure all sprinklers are turned off for a 24 hour period of time. Apply SuperWet only if rain is not expected for at least 24 hours. Do not apply SuperWet below 50° F.

6. Allow surface to dry for a minimum of 24 hours before foot traffic and 48 hours before vehicle traffic. Remember, stamped concrete can be easily damaged by scraping, shoveling and the use of snow blowing equipment!

First Coat = 2:1 dilution applied at 200-250 sq. ft. / gallon
Second Coat = 2:1 dilution applied at 250-300 sq. ft. / gallon
Top Coat = 1:1 dilution applied at 225-275 sq. ft. / gallon
Total Stamped Concrete Project Estimate Rate = approximately 200-225 sq. ft. / gallon of SuperWet Concentrate... This means a 5gallon kit should be approximately enough product to complete a 1000 sq. ft. stamped concrete project. This includes three coats and is based on heavily worn concrete with very little or no remaining previous sealer. Previously sealed concrete will typically be less absorbent and may require lighter and/or fewer coats, depending on condition of the existing sealer.

Broom Swept Concrete:

Seal-n-Lock SuperWet can be used clear or combined with our AquaPack Color System to seal or seal & color all types of outdoor concrete. SuperWet should be applied to broom swept concrete using multiple light coats, rather than one heavy coat.

1. First determine if you will be adding color to your SuperWet. For coloring concrete, we recommend two or three light coats (first two coats with color, and then a final clear top-coat to protect the colored surface below) If using without color, product can be applied in either a 2 or 3 coat process, depending on porosity and gloss desired.

2. Using our battery operated pail pump system or pump sprayer, uniformly apply an even wet coat of SuperWet to concrete surface. Do not allow to puddle.

Remember, colored concrete can be easily damaged by scraping, shoveling and the use of snow blowing equipment!

First Coat = 2:1 dilution applied at 200-225 sq. ft. / gallon
Second Coat = 2:1 dilution applied at 250-300 sq. ft. / gallon
Top Coat = 1:1 dilution applied at 225-275 sq. ft. / gallon
Total Broomed Concrete Project Estimate Rate = approximately 175-200 sq. ft. / gallon of SuperWet Concentrate... This means a 5gallon kit should be enough product to complete a 850-1000 sq. ft. broom swept concrete project. This includes three coats and is based on bare concrete with no previous sealer. Previously sealed concrete will typically be less absorbent and may require lighter and/or fewer coats, depending on condition of the existing sealer.

Maintenance

Like all things, maintaining optimal protection of a sealed surface requires scheduled maintenance. Once properly applied, surfaces sealed with SuperWet may periodically require a light cleaning to remove dirt, dust, mud, etc. In most cases, low pressure water is all that is needed for routine cleaning. Do not use a hot-water pressure washer unless you are preparing to apply a maintenance coat of SuperWet. Depending on wear and tear, sealed surfaces typically need a maintenance coat every 3-4 years.
